Things to do with Children this Half Term
It’s about now that the realisation that half term is almost upon us hits our senses and we have that all too familiar thought of ‘what am I going to do with them?’. Living in Islington, I feel blessed to have lots of great options on my doorstep and even more so in and around London. I’ve put together a few ideas for things to do with children this half term, some close to home and others a bit further afield but worth the trip.
As usual, there’s a lovely selection of productions at the Little Angel Theatre, especially for the 5 to 11 age group. From Prince Charming to The Boy and the Mermaid, there’s also a film night for 10 years and over. Another local gem is Park Theatre, which runs numerous classes and activities.
For the more active among you, or those of seeking to wear out our cherubs, a must visit is Better Extreme. If you haven’t been before or heard of it, it’s a very well-run trampoline park which caters for all needs. There are sessions for toddlers, families, as well as slots set aside for those with disabilities.
If you haven’t been ice skating at Alexander Palace, it’s well worth a visit. While it’s open all year round, they do run courses during the school holidays. This February half term, why not see if you and your children can learn to skate like a pro? You can see more about the fast track course here.
If you’re thinking more in terms of activity camps, be it sport, craft or languages, a quick Google search of ‘holiday summer camps Islington’ gave a veritable smorgasbord of opportunities!
We’re blessed to have so many options so close to home and of course, across the capital. For a vast range of options further afield, why not check out 101 things to do which will take you from Forest Hill to Richmond Park?
I wish you all a fabulous half term break, especially those heading into the build-up of exam season.
