A few questions I’m often asked
Can you tutor at my home?
Not normally as I’m afraid my timetable doesn’t allow for travel time.
How much do you charge?
Please have a look at the FEES tab on the navigation bar.
How many lessons will be needed?
Each student is different. Some students will need a shorter period of tuition in the run up to exams, some require regular sessions over a longer period; some take an intensive course of tuition during school holidays. Please do contact me to discuss requirements.
Do you offer trial lessons?
Yes I do, but they are charged at the normal rate.
Can I sit in on my child’s lessons?
Yes you’re welcome to, and some of the parents of younger students choose to do this, although often-older students feel more comfortable without their parent in the background.
Do you set homework?
Where required I do provide practice questions and revision work to do at home, which I go through with the student next lesson. This is always based on what students and parents feel is helpful, taking into account the work already set by the school.
Can you teach siblings together?
Not usually, although I have tutored twins together.
Do you give discounts if I book regular lessons for 2 or more of my children?
I’m afraid I don’t offer such discounts as my available sessions usually fill up quickly at the full rate.
